Happy Fourth of July 2014

The 4th has always been one of my favorite holidays. I have many fond memories of 4th's past shooting firecrackers with my father, and then, as I became a teenager, the bigger, and more fun fireworks, with my (now) ex boyfriend and his brother. This year was no exception for me in the department of shooting fireworks. My ex and his wife have a little girl about a year younger than my daughter (now 3) and we thought it would be fun to get together and let the kids play with some sparklers while we grown ups shot the fun…

Real Eggs vs. Plastic (dyeable) Eggs

My mother bought three dozen of these new plastic crafting eggs, which are dyeable, this year for Easter.  I'm not sure if any of you who are reading this have tried these, but I really wasn't all that much impressed. Problem #1:  With the real eggs you are supposed to add the dye tablets to vinegar and water, which is  enough liquid to submerge the egg completely (in a coffee cup).  With the plastic dyeables you use one tablet (tiny) to a mere 4 teaspoons of vinegar and no water.  This was just a pain.  Hunter got so frustrated with…
