Journal Prompt: What Are Your 5 Dominant Personality Traits Based On Your Visual Preferences?

While I was browsing Facebook this afternoon, I ran across this really interesting test and thought that it was worth sharing with our readers.  This test was found on Steven Aitchison's website titled, "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life." To take this test, you simply choose one photo which ignites you to feel certain emotions, and based upon your choices, the test will determine your top five dominant personality traits.  Easy peasy, right? Here is the outcome of my own personal test: Your 5 dominant traits are: Spiritual, Emotionally Intelligent, Charismatic, Analytical and Grounded. You are very in touch with…

Inexpensive Art Supplies

While many art supplies are found to be quite costly, there are a few ways to cut back on costs and save money for the more important supplies on your list, such as your favorite Copic Markers or Golden Brand Fluid Acrylic paints.  When browsing the dollar store the other day I was quite amazed at some of the basic things I could buy for mixed media art. Kids – Mixed Media Collage

I absolutely love to do collage!  The collage you see below is one of the first that I made when taking up Art Journaling in 2011.  I simply used craft materials that I already had on hand. Journal Prompt – Creating a Memory

JOURNAL PROMPT:  Create something in memory of someone that you love. She taught me everything she knew about them, would often times read books to me about them, and when we would see a bird that we did not recognize, she would take out her bird-watching guide and we would look and see if we could then identify it together.  My grandmother had a collection…

Life Journaling

Over the past few years I have been working exclusively on Art Journaling and it wasn't until recently (within the past year) that I really discovered the therapy in writing (journaling) as well.  I found myself doing quite a bit of thinking about the type of books that I would like to create with my work, and what I came up with was very therapeutic for me.  I had decided that I wanted to put all of my work into one book rather than having a collection of 20 different books for 20 different subjects. In the end, what I've…
